Quest through Adriadne’s thread of logic.
The Labyrinth the 4th myth to be visited by Rick Riordan, here , the labyrinth created Daedalus or the cunning one, is tied to his life. Annabeth is granted the quest to find him. Daedalus is the demigod son of Athena here.
Ariadne and string or the thread of logic helped the Greek Hero Theseus to get out of the Labyrinth. We have the cleared eyed mortal Rachel Dare doing so.
The book also touches on the myth of Calypso.
Pan the god of the wild is dying. With the nature withering us.
To me the highlight of the book was in passage where Pan asks the heroes to awaken the love for wild within them.
The author has till maintained to keep the tempo and magic. Though there are tracts where the monsters and their lineage becomes a bit too cumbersome to manage.
